Our Content Standards

101 Exterminators Inc. publishes pest control guides, city-specific service pages, and pest biology articles to help Central California homeowners make informed decisions. This page explains how that content is created, reviewed, and maintained.

Who Creates Our Content

All content published on this site is written by or reviewed by licensed pest control technicians holding active California Structural Pest Control Board (SPCB) credentials. Our license number is SPCB Lic. #9119.

Every factual claim — species behavior, treatment methods, safety protocols, inspection procedures — is grounded in real service experience or verified pest biology. We do not publish generic content copied from third-party sources without review by someone with field knowledge of Central California conditions.

AI-Assisted Drafting

We use AI writing tools to assist with drafting initial content outlines, research summaries, and structural organization of longer guides. This allows our team to produce thorough, well-structured content more efficiently.

All AI-drafted content is reviewed and edited by our team before publication. Review focuses specifically on local accuracy (species present in our service counties, regional climate patterns, Salinas Valley agricultural context), factual correctness (treatment methods, product categories, safety requirements), and practical applicability (guidance that actually applies to homes in Monterey, Santa Cruz, San Benito, and Santa Clara counties).

AI tools do not make decisions about what we recommend to customers. Those recommendations come from licensed technicians based on on-site inspection findings.

Accuracy Standards

Regional pest behavior claims are verified against UC Davis Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Program guidelines and California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) pest records. Species identification and activity patterns are cross-referenced with published entomological data for the Central Coast and Salinas Valley.

Pricing ranges referenced on service pages are updated at least annually based on actual job data from our own completed services. We do not publish pricing based on national averages that do not reflect Monterey County market conditions.

  • Species identification reviewed against California Department of Food and Agriculture records
  • Treatment methods consistent with SPCB-approved protocols
  • Safety claims reflect label requirements for products used in California
  • Regional climate and seasonal data sourced from NOAA and UC ANR records

Updates and Corrections

Content is updated when pest behavior patterns shift, treatment methods change, new California regulations apply, or when we receive corrections from readers or our own technicians. Substantive corrections are made promptly and without notice — we prioritize accuracy over preserving existing content.

If you find an error on any page — factual, regional, or otherwise — please let us know. We take these reports seriously.
