Our Standards
How We Hire & Train
The technician who shows up at your door isn't just licensed — they've been vetted, trained on Central California pest biology, and held to standards we've built over 20 years in the field.
Full-Time Employees Only
We don't use subcontractors. Your technician is a trained 101 Exterminators employee with full background screening — someone accountable to our standards every time they step onto your property.
Ongoing Training
Every technician holds current CA SPCB licenses and receives annual training on California-specific pest species and treatment methods. Pest control regulations and best practices evolve — so does our team.
Background Verified
All technicians are background-checked before joining our team. You invited us into your home — we take that seriously. Who comes to your door matters as much as what they do when they get there.

Our Expertise
20 Years of Central California Expertise
We founded 101 Exterminators in 2005 in Salinas, CA. The Salinas Valley's unique combination of agricultural land, coastal climate, and diverse housing stock — Victorian homes in Monterey, post-war bungalows in Seaside, modern developments in Sunnyvale — means our technicians have encountered every pest scenario the Central Coast can produce. That breadth of field experience is not something you can replicate in a classroom.
Our technicians hold California Structural Pest Control Board (SPCB) Branch 2 and Branch 3 licenses. Branch 2 covers fumigation; Branch 3 covers all other pest control. These licenses require passing state examinations, completing continuing education hours on a regular cycle, and maintaining active registration with the SPCB. We hold license number 9119 — verifiable through the SPCB public license lookup.
We're a family business. Every technician who comes to your door has been trained by our team, knows our standards, and takes personal accountability for their work. We don't have a call center routing you to whoever's available — we have real technicians who know your neighborhood, your pest pressure, and your property. When you call back with a follow-up question, you talk to someone who was actually on your job.
